How to stay on top of your wardrobe
Hi guys 😊 long time since i write something and i kinda miss it 😀 and way not start with a wardrobe subject we all have one and at one point we all have space or organisation problem . I keep my wardrobe well organised so i don`t have to spend hours finding and ensemble an outfit, who has time for that 😃 and as a mum , i like to be able to grab and go without much thought , but still look and feel good . So if you struggle here is some advice from someone who has a minimal and practical wardrobe 😉
- Avoid fast fashion : i wanted to start with this because it has become a really strong subject all over the world . Fast fashion it is not only affecting our budgets but the planet as well, it comes in large volumes of new things that are available for a little while, only to be replaced with another large volume of something else, who can keep up with that, is like we have 50 fashion seasons a year . I think that a capsule wardrobe can help your decision of what to wear each day and you gone have more space and time in your life.
- Have your wardrobe staples ( capsule wardrobe ) : a capsule is made out of only 30 quality and loved items that you can wear exclusively and they are a bit more versatile so you can mix and match them .
- Invest in forever pieces : When you shop for new items make sure that the price reflect its quality , if a piece is cheaply made, it won`t last long . To give you an example are Barbour jackets, i own one for 8 years now and i just had it waxed, it looks like new and i can wear it for years to come , plus if you live in UK you either need an umbrella or a waxed jacket 😀😃.
- Rotate your clothes by season : well this is not rocket science , you simply swap your clothes when the weather changes by keepin it simple with spring/summer and fall/winter ,i like to store my clothes in vacuum bags and the more delicate ones in storage crates which i buy from Ikea .
- Give away or donate what you don`t wear : I think when it comes to clean our wardrobe we all have the same problem "we just can`t" 😀 "maybe it will still fit me" and believe me it won`t work, you`re going to end up pushing it in the end of the wardrobe and it`s going to stay there just taking space, so if you didn`t wear it in the last year just give it away . Put a nice song on and power through it but don`t listen to a break up song you might have mixed feelings 😃 😀.
- Its ok to wear the same outfit : If it`s something that looks good on you way not wear it multiple times , even celebrities start to do it on the red carpet .
