Christmas jolly jars ideas

Hello everyone 😊 my son started at a new school this year and we been introduce to all kinds of new experiences . It has been a bit of a challenge in the beginning but he loves being part of it and as long as he is happy i`m happy to . One of the events that the PTA organised this year was a jolly jar competition and i think they doing such an amazing job raising found for our school .

easy to make

The first step in making the jolly jars was to get some jars , i bought mine from a shop called  Flying tiger in London they are the ones that come with a straw . Then we looked for some ideas and we choose to make three jars an elf , a snow man and Santa . Before i started painting them i tried few paints in till i found the perfect one . I bought it in B&Q and i think is the best for glass , i applied two coats of paint with a sponge brush .

Some of the other things that we used were pom poms , sequins , glitter , pva glue , multi coloured pipe cleaners  , hot glue gun , black buttons , black paint and some thick paper .

easy to make

For Santa jar i painted one clean jar with the red colour and while the paint was drying i cut from paper the belt buckle and i painted with a mix of pva glue and gold glitter . The belt is made out of a stripe of paper which i painted black and i left them all to dry while i continue to make the jar lid .

I paint the top of the jar lid red then i started to glue with the hot glue the white pipe cleaner it till i covered all the side of the jar and i decided to make a bow as a small design .

After everything was dry i glued the belt first then the buckle , two buttons with hot glue .

For the snowman jar i paint one clean jar white and while it was drying i made his hat . I cut two circles one after the measurement of the jar lid and another one smaller , plus a stripe of paper for the hat height .

I paint them black , let them dry then i glued them with hot glue and to cover the edges i used silver pipe cleaner .

I used the silver pipe cleaner around the jar lid as well with hot glue the i glue the hat on top of the lid and used three small pom poms as a small detail .

Then i took the dried white jar and with hot glue i glued his eyes , mouth , nose , buttons and his scarf .  For the Elf jar i paint a clean jar green, let it dry then with the red glass paint i went on top of the green paint to make a shirt collar

On top of the red paint i painted again with a mix of pva glue and red glitter , and i sprinkled some more glitter on top and let it dry .

Meanwhile i started to make the elf hat and i`m so sorry i don`t have any pictures for more details but i can just tell you how i done it . I glued some white and red pipe cleaner around a paper cone and at the top i glued a green pom pom . I then glued the cone to the jar lid . On the side of the jar lid i hot glued some red and green pom poms . For the elf buttons i used some snowflakes confetti .
Hope you enjoy it 😊 follow if you like 😀 😘 💖
